Anthony Edwards has often been called the “Next face of the NBA.” There’s good reason for that.

Edwards is an extremely talented player who can shoot the long ball, while also being able to explode to the basket. He isn’t perfect, however.
When the game slows down and the defense finally picks up, Edwards often finds himself stuck. This is especially true if the lane is blocked off and his three-ball isn’t falling.
Edwards understands what he needs to fix. That’s his mid-range game. He is currently in the process of doing this, by watching and studying old clips of Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant.
“This offseason, Ant’s number one focus is a new area of development: the post-up game, mid-post, high-post, low-post, establishing a midrange game, and the fadeaway shot from the post,” Shams Charania said on NBA Today.
“He’s been watching a lot of tape of Kobe and MJ. Studying their game and how they were able to get the shot off from the post-up game. Minnesota believes this part of his game will become a go-to element, especially as games stagnate down the stretch and get slower, particularly come playoff time.”
Edwards has already been compared to Jordan in the past. If he develops a mid-range game, he truly will be “Like Mike.”
This is a testament to how great both Jordan and Kobe were. When a player needs to improve their game, they almost always study either Michael Jordan or Kobe Bryant.
