A.J. Brown’s Production Rises But Eagles’ Struggles Continue

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown seems to be getting what he asked for earlier this season when he publicly noted that he wasn’t getting enough targets.

He had a strong game against the Chicago Bears on Friday though, finishing with 132 yards and two touchdowns on ten receptions, but the Eagles suffered a 24-15 loss.

In a Twitch stream just over two weeks ago, Brown urged fantasy football players to drop him from their lineups, claiming that he hadn’t gotten the ball enough.

“If you got me on fantasy, get rid of me,” Brown said.

He continued later after playing as himself on Madden.

“That’s the only highlights of damn football I been living right now,” Brown said.

Brown’s on-field production has been better over the last few weeks, but it hasn’t made Philadelphia’s offense much stronger.

Friday’s defeat is the second straight loss for the Eagles, who are looking less and less likely to repeat as Super Bowl Champions.

Through the first four games of the season, Brown only had one touchdown and 12 receptions, but the Eagles were 4-0 in those matchups.

Correlation doesn’t automatically equate to causation, but if the Eagles’ offense continues to look lethargic while Brown plays better individually, the team will notice the connection.

Philadelphia’s struggled as of late, especially for a team that is looking to win a second straight Super Bowl. They currently sit at 8-4 on the season as their grip on the NFC East appears to be slipping.
