Spain dominated Belgium during their match on Friday, holding 68% of the possession and outshooting Belgium 17 to five.

Spain would record the first attempt at net of the match in the 10th minute.

However, Rodri’s strike would be blocked well before it posed a threat on net.

In the 21st, Spain’s Lamine Yamal would take a strike from just outside the box but missed wide.

However, Spain’s offense would finally breakthrough in the 30th.

Following an endline cross into the box, Fabián Ruiz would collect a rebounding strike, burying it to give Spain the advantage.

In the 40th minute, Lamine Yamal would slice his way through the Belgian defense, looking for a spectacular solo goal.

However, a miss hit strike would see the ball sail just wide.

Following Yamal’s attempt, Belgium would march right down the field on the counterattack, creating their best chance of the half.

A cross from Timothy Castagne would find Charles De Ketelaere who was actively engaged with a Spanish defender.

De Ketelaere delivered the header right into the back of the net, bringing the match level.

Both sides would find the back of the net once in the first half, keeping the game even at the half.

Coming out of halftime, in the 47th minute, Yamal looked to be through onto goal with a great run.

Yamal would force a great save from Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, but the offsides flag would quickly go up following the strike.

Yamal would test Courtois once again in the 61st, delivering a strike just outside the box.

And once again, Courtois would deny the young Spaniard.

But the Belgian goalkeeper would be forced to make another stop just a minute later.

This time denying Mikel Oyarzabal.

But Belgium’s stonewall in Courtois would leave the match in the 71st, being subbed off following an injury.

Senne Lammens would come on in his place.

The match would remain deadlocked until some late chaos in the 88th.

Lammens would save an attempt on net from Pau Cubarsí.

But the Belgian goalkeeper could not corral it, allowing Mikel Merino to clean up the rebound and put Spain back ahead.

And that’s where the match would stay as the full-time whistle rang out.

Spain advances to face France in the semi-final at 3 p.m. on Tuesday.
