Spain simply dominated Austria, advancing to the round of 16.

With their dominant victory, Spain has reinforced the idea that they can win it all this year.

Spain’s offensive press started from the get-go, with Lamine Yamal opening the Spanish offensive with a strike in the first minute.

Alexander Schlager would make the save, one of just five he was forced to make in the first half.

In the 29th minute, Spain’s Marc Cucurella seemingly put the Spaniards ahead following a corner.

But a quick foul call from the side judge would see the goal disallowed.

Austria would find their attempt at net in the 35th minute, however, from 33 yards out David Alaba would miss high and wide.

In the 36th minute, Spain would find another attempt in the box, this one courtesy of Mikel Oyarzabal.

A beautiful pass from Cucurella would find Oyarzabal in the middle of the box, he would take the pass first touch, slotting it into the right of Schlager and in.

Spain, however, looked to find one more late in stoppage-time, creating a myriad of opportunities.

In the 45+4th minute, Schlager would make two incredible saves to keep Austria’s deficit at just one.

Spain would take their 1-0 advantage into the half.

Spain’s offense did not skip a beat coming into the second 45, forcing Schlager to make yet another save in the 49th minute.

Austria would see their best chance of the day in the 61st minute when Sasa Kalajdzic would lift the equalizing header just high.

Spain would double their advantage n the 66thminute when Pedro Porro would find his first international goal.

Oyarzabal would secure both the Spanish victory and a brace with a goal in the 89th minute.

And that’s where the score would stand at full-time.

With their thrashing of Austria, Spain is set to take on the winner of Portugal vs Croatia.

Spain’s round of 16 match will take place at 3 p.m. on Monday.
