Shedeur Sanders brings in record-breaking $17.7 million in NFLPA royalties

Cleveland Browns quarterback Shedeur Sanders may have fallen drastically in the 2025 NFL Draft, but that hasn’t affected his popularity among fans.

According to multiple reports, Sanders took home a record-breaking $17.7 million in NFLPA licensing income last season. These royalties come from things like autographs, merchandise and jersey sales, illustrating how beloved Sanders is among football fans.

The previous one-year record was held by legendary quarterback Tom Brady at $9.5 million. Since he fell so far down in the draft, these royalties dwarf his rookie contract, which is worst roughly $4.6 million.

His former Colorado teammate, Travis Hunter, brought in the second-most with $12.8 million. Patrick Mahomes came in at third with $8 million while Tetairoa McMillan hauled in $4.5 million with Saquon Barkley just behind at $4.3 million.

To put it simply, Sanders was already one of the most popular players in college football and his brand has only seemed to grow since making it to the NFL.

With his jersey number switching from 12 to 2 this offseason, his royalties may look similar next year.
