BREAKING: Milwaukee Bucks part ways with HC Doc Rivers

The Milwaukee Bucks have parted ways with head coach Doc Rivers after finishing 32-50 on the season, per ESPN’s Shams Charania.

The news came just minutes after the Bucks’ 20-point loss to the Philadelphia 76ers to close out the season. This campaign was marred by a combination of injuries and reported friction between the players and the team.

Team sources told ESPN that a divide existed between Rivers and the players all season. He took over the team after Adrian Griffin was fired in 2024. They went on to fall to the Indiana Pacers in the first round of the playoffs.

The Bucks went 48-34 in Rivers’ first full season as head coach in 2024-25, ultimately losing to the Pacers in the first round again.

Prior to this year, the Bucks had reached the playoffs in nine consecutive seasons. They wasted no time opening up their head coaching vacancy after the season ended on Sunday. Time will tell if Giannis Antetokounmpo remains on the roster.

James Parker contributed to this story.
