The Steelers are hosting the Texans in the final game of the Wildcard round of the playoffs. It has been 10 years since the Steelers last won a playoff game, and now Aaron Rodgers will look to put an end to the drought.
The Steelers finished the season 10-7, clinching the AFC North over the Ravens in week 18 thanks to a missed kick from Tyler Loop as time expired. It’s the first time the Steelers will have a home playoff game since 2020, and they have not lost a home Monday Night Football game since 1992.

Rodgers has had a solid season in his first season with the Steelers. He threw for 3,322 yards with 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions. Rodgers played in all but one game in the regular season, and has helped guide a Steelers offense that has shown inconsistencies throughout the season. The Steelers rank in the bottom 10 in passing yards per game and rushing yards per game.
Rodgers will have to find ways to expose a stingy Texans defense. The Texans are the best defense in the NFL, allowing just 277.2 yards per game. They also allow the second lowest points per game with 17.4 and average 1.7 takeaways a game, third best in the NFL.
The Texans are also the hottest team in the NFL, winning their last nine games to finish with a 12-5 record, falling one game short of the AFC South title. Both Danielle Hunter and Will Anderson jr. rank top 10 in the league in sacks and tackles for a loss.
The Steelers will have to adjust to Hunter and Anderson jr. if they want to move on to the next round of the playoffs. If not, both Mike Tomlin and the Steelers will have another long offseason filled with uncertain futures.
