J.J. Redick felt good speaking to reporters after Saturday’s victory for the Lakers against Memphis.
ESPN’s First Take discussed Los Angeles being in trouble with the remainder of its schedule.

The Lakers suffered a 117-119 loss versus Chicago last week in a game that it needed to win. Memphis is not trying to be in the NBA’s Play-In Tournament, which begins on April 15-18. Los Angeles earned a 134-127 victory over Ja Morant and the Grizzlies, boasting three players that scored 20-plus points and six that turned in double figures in scoring. Austin Reaves led the Lakers with 31 points, while Luka Doncic turned in 29 and LeBron James had 25. Redick did not like how the team played against the Bulls, but he enjoyed the response versus Memphis. He said he is in a ‘much better place’ after what happened in a previous matchup in Memphis.

“I just want to say that the last time I did a press conference in Memphis, I am in a much better place than the last time,” Redick said. “I want to let you guys know that. So, be nice.
Redick was joking in talking to the media, but the last time LAL was in Memphis the result was not good.
The Grizzlies got a 131-114 victory over the Lakers on Nov. 6, 2024.
Los Angeles got some get back and Redick was happy with it.
