Breaking: LaMelo Ball leaves game vs. Pistons early due to non-contact injury

The worst news any Charlotte Hornets fan wants to hear now is that their star player, LaMelo Ball, is injured. Unfortunately for Hornets fans, this worst fear has become a reality.

LaMelo left tonight’s game vs. the Detroit Pistons with an ankle injury. What makes this worse is the fact the injury to LaMelo came as a result of a non-contact injury.

LaMelo Ball suffers non-contact injury vs. Pistons

The Charlotte Hornets and LaMelo Ball have been playing pretty well since the All-Star break; this includes their 117-106 win vs. the Pistons tonight. So, hearing LaMelo has suffered a non-contact ankle injury is terrible.

According to a tweet by the Twitter account @LegionHoops, LaMelo has stated that he “heard it pop.”

An updated tweet from the official Charlotte Hornets Twitter account has stated the unfortunate news that LaMelo has suffered a fracture in his right ankle.
