The date was February 2, 2022, and the Charlotte Hornets were in Boston, taking on the Celtics. At this point, the Celtics were turning their season around after a slow start, and soon they’d proved to be the best team in the Eastern Conference.
The Hornets were trying to stay above .500 and reach the playoffs, which unfortunately would not happen. Even in LaMelo’s career game, where he scored a career-high 38 points on 12-24 shooting.
The Hornets lost to Boston, 113-107, spoiling LaMelo’s efforts. Still, it was a great game on a personal level for LaMelo, and you can watch the highlights of that game in the video below.
