Lonzo Ball teamed with Okay Bears, a Solana PFP project, last July to create a 1/1 Lonzo Ball Bear, which is an NFT. Lonzo ended up auctioning off his NFT and took the money to donate a community basketball court.

Lonzo gives back to his hometown

Lonzo Ball is from the Los Angeles area, and with the money earned from his NFT, he decided to give it to Verbum Dei High School for a new outdoor basketball court.

“It means a lot to me, especially to do it back home and just put a smile on their face,” Ball told Fox 11 Los Angeles. “I’m in a good position where I can give back and help, and that is all I’m trying to do.”

This is a great thing to see, a professional athlete giving back to people who are less fortunate. It shows the character of Lonzo Ball, and as fans, we hope to see him back on a basketball court as soon as possible.
